Floors are an important element of the house. You walk, sit, stand or lay on them and they are just crucial when it comes to creating a vibe in your house. Whatever you choose, if it’s epoxy floor, wood or vinyl: it will influence the rest of your interior.
It’s not the case you replace your floor every year, so that’s where rugs offer a solution! You can easily decorate your room every season. In winter an animal skin or high pile rug. In summer rather a lightweight woven fabric in a pastel shade. I must say I have a winter and summer rug at home myself!
Nowadays you will not only spot rugs in the living room. You’ll find them in the kitchen, and even outside, rugs are hot! Besides new places where we spot rugs, we also note that round rugs and Persian or oriental carpets are gaining in popularity.
Golden rule is that you need to take into account the other colours and textures or materials in the room. Furthermore, the right size is important. A rug that is too small or too big is really a no-go. In the sitting area for instance, each piece of furniture must touch the rug, even if it’s with one leg only. In this way, the rug will connect the separate pieces of furniture into a cosy corner.
